Wild Frontiers: Omia is an alien wildlife documentary concept for an animated 3D series. In this series booksmart Alien Wildlife Expert Dr. Thebit Moss finally goes out into wide, wide space to explore various ecosystems and their inhabitants on the exoplanet Omia.

I was part of the visual development of "Omia: Wild Frontiers" and responsible for early sounddesign and the design of protagonist Dr. Thebit Moss. In the 3D-trailer (developed by my teammates) his finale design is displayed.

As a Character designer I had the responsibility of designing our protagonist Dr. Thebit Moss. As a passionate biologist, his life has always revolved around researching his environment and exciting everyone surrounding him in the process. As a big nerd, Thebit wouldn’t we too busy with his appearance as with the expeditions he puts himself on. Resulting in a clothing style from a long time ago: the 1980’s. During his time on the planet Omia the professor has a homebase, laboratory and suit to efficiently explore this planet. As for his facial appearance, we wanted to make him look more peculiar than the average professor. Thebits hair has a strange tone of green, his complexion has bright tones of oranges and his coloured glasses have a bunch of hidden features we can only guess about... Below you will find some early sketches, style explorations, final visualisation of these locations and a few shots of Dr. Thebit Moss in action.
